If you’re waiting until the last minute to make your own Halloween pumpkins, this is a fun and easy way to make DIY Halloween pumpkins with a smile. It’s a quick, easy and unique way to decorate your pumpkins this year. I was inspired to make these when I found these adorable smiley face balloons from my friend Oh Happy Day’s Online Party Store.

Toothpicks are a great way to correct mistakes. If you accidentally cut a part of the pumpkin and don’t bother, you can always glue it using toothpaste to keep the pumpkin part back.
Petroleum jelly is a necessary ingredient for carved pumpkins. Use jelly to cover the hollowed out parts of your pumpkin and keep them fresh longer.
If you are new to carving or don’t want the stress of carving a large pumpkin, then it is best to find a pumpkin that is easy to carve. We recommend using the Golden Fall Pumpkin because this is one of the easiest pumpkins to carve and is still a medium to large pumpkin. If you’re looking for a larger pumpkin (but not necessarily the easiest to carve), then Gold Rush pumpkins are worth a look.

There is no right or wrong way to carve a pumpkin, but cutting the bottom is best to preserve your pumpkin after carving. I find that if I’m carving a pumpkin for decoration then it’s best to cut out the bottom of the pumpkin with a pumpkin saw, but if you’re going to use the pumpkin as a candy jar then cut out the top so you have a lid. ‘.
