I hate to say it, especially since I’ve dabbled in calligraphy a few times, but hiring a professional calligrapher to make your wedding invitations is such a waste of money. For $3 + an envelope, you can drop your credit card and create an envelope template (or get the free A7 envelope template!) that you can print at home. Make as many copies as you need and reuse this baby to work on thank you notes, Christmas cards, you name it.

How To Print An Envelope In Google Docs?
While most word processing software gives you a “folder” option, I’ve found it to be bulky and rudimentary most of the time. While it’s fine for professional printing, it’s definitely not what you want for wedding envelopes or fancy stationery.
Hopefully you’ve figured this out by now, but you need to know exactly how big your envelopes are (in inches or centimeters) with the flaps closed. If you can’t find this information on the package, just open a ruler and measure.
For our invitations we recommend A7 envelopes which are 5.25″ x 7.25″, but this may vary depending on the size of your invitations. If you don’t know what size folders you need, this handy table can help you choose the right folders.
Creating Letter And Envelope In Microsoft Word Using Templates
Go to Page Layout > Size > More Paper Sizes. Enter the size of your folder in the Width and Height fields and click OK.
Go to Insert > Text Box > Draw Text Box. Draw a text box in the center of your document, making sure to leave enough space at the top for stamps and a return address.
To remove the black border around the text box, click the text box and go to Format > Shape Border > No Border.
How To Print On Envelopes At Home
Once you’ve added your first text box, just click on the outer border so that there’s a solid black line around it, then press Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to duplicate it. I prefer to create a text box for each text style (i.e. calligraphy names have a box, while serif addresses have a separate box).
One of the reasons we don’t already use the “folder” feature in Word is because we can use custom fonts, images, and layouts in this mode.
I think envelopes look best with a mix of calligraphy, sans serif and serif fonts. But that’s up to you. Ideally, you may want to choose 1-2 fonts to match your wedding invitations so that they all look the same.

A note about return addresses: In this example, I’ve put the return address on the front of the envelope for simplicity. If you prefer to lay it on its back, follow the same steps to make one
In a brand new document. When it’s time to print, print the front of your envelopes first, then flip them over and print the back.
Once your template looks exactly the way you want, you’ll want to duplicate the pages so you can print several at a time.
Placing Content Into Letters For Sending Online
To copy your page, click on the gray border outside the page. This will highlight your text boxes.
In a text box. You should see a blinking cursor in the top left corner of the page. Press Done on your keyboard (this will add the blank pages after the existing page).
Go to Insert > Blank Page. Click about 15-20 times to add more pages. (I recommend no more than 25 pages per document. If you make too many, the Word document will crash and you will have a freezing and crashing problem.)

If you’re not familiar with mail merge, the easiest way is to copy and paste your addresses by hand. I know from experience that it only takes about 20 minutes to copy over 100 folders, which is how long it takes to resolve mail merge issues.
Otherwise, you can search Google for mail merge instructions based on your software version and operating system.
Load a few envelopes into your printer’s paper tray. (If yours has one, I’d use the rear input tray instead of the lower paper cassette. If you don’t have one, don’t panic.)

Make sure you enter the custom paper size in the print settings or it won’t print correctly no matter what you do. Then go back to the print preview and make sure the text is the right size, centered, and nothing is cut off.
