Design Your Own Bible Cover – Towards the end of last year, I was scrolling through Pinterest (surprise, surprise π ) and I came across this girl who painted her Bible cover beautifully. Then I scrolled down to see more women painting their bibles. I think this is a fun and creative way to design a Bible cover!
Therefore, I began to travel in search of the best way to paint your Bible text. I ordered my bible, ordered a painting and primer from Amazon for their 2 day shipping… and ran into a few problems that I thought someone told me about.

Let’s begin. Choose the surface you want to place your Bible on. I recommend high so that you can leave the Bible in a day or more, if necessary. Then cover the surface with paper, towels, etc.
Open your Bible in the middle, and lie down on a covered surface. Then, take two pieces of paper and put them in the folds of one cover. Repeat on the other side. This will prevent color from accidentally entering the pages of your Bible.
This was a very important step for me, because in my first round, I ran my Bible backwards and forwards. It’s crushing.

So, on the other hand, I love knowing the front part with the star in the book, which is inside the Bible.
Again, double check that your Bible is right side up and that you know the front page. π
I recommend painting a good coat of primer, not too thick but not too thin, on the line. Let it dry. Then paint a vertical layer. This time, leave the primer completely for a few hours.

Honestly, don’t rush into this, take your time, scroll through Pinterest, ask for it, think about what will work for you. Think of a design that will inspire you every day when you look at your Bible.
But you don’t feel pressured to get it right, just a loose design so you know where you’re going.
The best thing about painting is that you can hide a lot of mistakes! Also, God said that we will never be perfect, so you can see that as a good reminder. But honestly, be happy to draw your Bible and realize that you are what you do for you, not what anyone likes.

If you open a Bible, or any book for that matter, the small pages along the spine of the Bible are crooked. Therefore, you really need paint as small as possible, to save the paint for chipping or cracking later down the road.
Once you have painted your background color on your Bible, this would be a good time to paint the outside/side of your Bible properly. Since you won’t see many of these pages, a good neutral color will work well!
